Personally I like Piplup, but Chimchar's probably the better choice.

chimchar has more speed and i think more type advantages over the gym leaders. i wouldn't suggest keeping him for competitive battling because there are way better choices

go with chimchar. they got the speed and attk. its a sweeper, and piplup suck cause they got no speed and there moves rn't that great.
